Mackenzie McKee Teases Divorce Confirmation On ‘Teen Mom’

Mackenzie McKee does not want the public to mix things up on her marital status!

The “Teen Mom” star is dispelling reports that she is still legally married to her former husband, Josh McKee, insisting she is very much separated from him.

Mackenzie McKee and Josh McKee went their separate ways in 2022, and the reality star confirmed it in an Instagram post.

Mackenzie confirmed that reports claiming she is still legally married to Josh McKee are false. She elaborated that her divorce will be validated in an upcoming “Teen Mom: The Next Chapter” episode on April 17.

According to the TV star, a court error prevented the formal filing of their divorce. Reports on April 14 indicated no divorce had been filed in either Florida, where Mackenzie lives, or in Miami, Oklahoma, where Josh resides.

Speculation about her marital status arose after an April 10 episode where she mentioned that she and Josh did not attend court for their divorce proceedings.

Mackenzie explained that they had actuallybeen divorced for about a year and a half, and she had to manage her divorce under difficult financial circumstances, which led her to create a DIY divorce agreement. 

Although they signed it, they reportedly did not pursue court proceedings, which confused the public about their legal status. Per In Touch, the episode concluded with a cliffhanger, showing Mackenzie surprised upon discovering she was still listed as “not divorced” in the legal records.

Mackenzie and Josh, who were first introduced to fans on “16 and Pregnant” in 2011, continued to share their relationship journey on “Teen Mom 3” during its single season in 2013.

They later reappeared on “Teen Mom OG” when Mackenzie joined the show in 2019. In an exclusive interview in April 2020, Mackenzie reflected on the challenges in her marriage, emphasizing their strong bond through their children.

She shared that her family has never experienced divorce, which added pressure on her not to be the first to break that tradition. 

While acknowledging the difficulties in her relationship, she affirmed Josh’s role as a dedicated father, stating that he has always been a good dad since their marriage, and her children love him.

Mackenzie has found love again and is now engaged to Khesanio Hall, who proposed in May 2024. Recently, she announced on “The Drew Barrymore Show” that she is expecting twins, having revealed her pregnancy on March 31.

Accompanied by her Teen Mom: The Next Chapter co-star Briana DeJesus, Mackenzie shared that she had kept the news private until now.

With a playful tone, she confirmed, “There’s two in there,” and mentioned that the pregnancy was planned. The star confirmed that her pregnancy journey began through in vitro fertilization (IVF) to start a family with Khesanio.

Mackenzie and her former husband are parents to three children until they split in 2022 after 12 years together.

The reality star shared in July 2022 that she and Josh were ending their relationship after 12 years together. The couple began dating in 2009 and tied the knot on August 17, 2013. 

In a heartfelt Instagram post shared by The Blast, she addressed the public regarding her recent split from Josh. Acknowledging the flood of messages and media attention, she emphasized her desire for her followers to hear the news directly from her.

She shared that she is officially ending her relationship with Josh but will always hold respect for him as the father of her children. The TV star also expressed her commitment to finding her happiness moving forward.

Despite the emotional turmoil of her separation from Josh, Mackenzie chose to rise above the situation. She conveyed that while her past self might have aired grievances publicly, she recognized the pain both carry from the end of their marriage.

She reiterated that the well-being of their children remained a priority for her, as she acknowledged that they both love their kids despite the hurt they caused each other.

Mackenzie emphasized their shared humanity, expressing a desire to avoid delving into the specific reasons for their split, especially without Josh’s perspective.

Reflecting on her marriage, she candidly admitted that she was not a perfect wife, but also acknowledged that Josh was not the ideal husband either. 

She highlighted that women often reach a point of readiness to leave when they can sense something is wrong. For Mackenzie, this realization was her experience as she grappled with the complexities of a relationship that had defined her since her teenage years.
