Macaulay Culkin’s son unknowingly made the sweetest comment toward his mom.
During his appearance on Sean Evan’s Hot Ones, the Home Alone alum, 44, talked about everything from his decadeslong career to his family life, which he likes to keep private. The former child actor shares his two sons, Carson, 2, and Dakota, 4, with his actress fiancée Brenda Song.
“My kids have no idea that me and Brenda are famous,” he told Evans, 39. “They see mama on TV — when she’s not around, I put on [The Suite Life of Zack & Cody], … and you know what Dak said? He goes, ‘Someday I want to grow up and and marry a girl just as pretty as London Tipton.’ “
“But they are thoroughly unimpressed that we’re on TV and stuff like that,” Culkin continued. “I’m not intending to raise a nepo baby no matter how much they’re going to be like that.”

Culkin, who became a household name when as the child star of the Home Alone franchise, says he’s embracing a different type of fame now.
“It’s like I’ve been famous like virtually my entire life,” he said. “I take my kids to school and the other kids go, ‘That’s Dak and Carson’s dad.’ And I’m dad famous there, and I want to keep that up, even if it’s just temporary, even it’s just an illusion.”
“I’ve never felt more famous, like more complete famous, than that,” he added. “I try to … at the very least keep up the illusion.”
The proud dad always tries to make Father’s Day special for his boys. On Wednesday, June 25, Culkin shared a few snaps on Instagram from his celebration of the summer holiday with his two boys. Culkin spent the day at Legoland California, noting he aims to “do something awesome for my boys” every Father’s Day.
“Every Father’s Day I try to do something awesome for my boys, because if it wasn’t for them I’d have nothing to celebrate,” he began in the caption of his post.
“I’m making Father’s Day a big deal in my household. It’s not on the same level as Christmas and birthdays, but on par with Easter. And it kicks the crap out of Memorial Day that’s for sure,” he continued. “This year we went to @legolandcalifornia and it went so well that my boys didn’t want to leave. That night they whispered to their mama that they, ‘Want it to be Father’s Day every day.’ Mission accomplished.”

Over the years, the couple has given subtle glimpses into their family life in interviews. During a chat with Cosmopolitan, Culkin admitted he’s proudly in his stay-at-home dad era, hosting playdates, bumping heads with son Dakota, whom they affectionately call DakDak, and being “Papa T-rex.”
The couple agreed that Dakota’s personality is more like his father’s, and the similarities sometimes cause them to clash. Carson, meanwhile, shares the same raspy voice as Song. While both of their sons have personalities indicative of one particular parent, Culkin and Song see themselves in both of them.
“But Carson walks on his tippy-toes, like me,” Culkin told the outlet. “And DakDak is a stomper, like me,” Song added.
