Lorde has revealed the title and release date of her fourth studio album, “Virgin.”

Out June 27, “Virgin” is described by Lorde as “100% written in blood.” These details, along with the cover art of the LP, were shared on Lorde’s website on Wednesday morning. The album artwork is a blue-tinted x-ray of a pelvis with a zipper going down the middle, a belt buckle in the center and the outline of an IUD.

The record was written with Grammy producer of the Year Dan Nigro (Chappell Roan/ Olivia Rodrigo), Blood Orange’s Devonté Hynes, Fabiana Palladino, Andrew Aged and Buddy Ross. On Apple Music, the album appears to have 11 tracks, including her latest single, “What Was That.”

“Virgin” is produced by Lorde and Jim-E Stack, who has worked as a solo artist and producer on music for Bon Iver, Gracie Abrams, Caroline Polachek and more. The collection of songs was mixed by Spike Stent and Tom Elmhirst, and was mastered by Chris Gehringer.

Lorde promoted the record’s first single “What Was That” with a fan event at Washington Square Park in New York on April 23 where she premiered the song on speakers (with assistance from Hynes) and sang and danced along with fans. The song’s music video is stitched together using clips of Lorde and her fans at the pop-up appearance.

In a voice note that hinted at her long-awaited return to music after her last album, “Solar Power,” Lorde said, “everything is about to change.” She continued, “These are the last moments where it’s just us, which is crazy. But so right. I’m so ready.”

Lorde also performed at the first weekend of the Coachella festival, joining Charli xcx onstage for their collaborative song “Girl, So Confusing.”
