In a recent TikTok, Livvy Dunne broke down a recently uncovered “invisible string” that connected her to her boyfriend, Pittsburgh Pirates star Paul Skenes, before they met in college for the first time.
The link traces back to their days at Louisiana State University, where Dunne, 22, repped the school in gymnastics and Skenes, 23, played on the baseball team. However, the gymnast revealed that the connection happened even before he was an LSU Tiger.
Skenes played college baseball for the Air Force Falcons from 2021 to 2022 before transferring to LSU after his sophomore year. The school’s respective baseball teams, meanwhile, played against each other — and guess who was in attendance: Dunne.

“Invisible strings are real,” the retired gymnast began her TikTok video shared on Tuesday, July 29.
“So right now I’m in [New] Jersey and my mom’s moving stuff out of my house in Louisiana for me,” she continued, adding, “And as we know, I was in college for five years. I have a lot of stuff at my house, and then my mom finds this.”
The video then cuts to a photo of a 2021 ticket stub, which pops up on the screen alongside Dunne.
“It’s a ticket to the LSU verses Air Force baseball game. Paul was on Air Force’s team — and that was my first college baseball game ever,” the New Jersey native shared, noting, “And I didn’t know him! That is crazy.”
“I always knew he played LSU but I never thought I was at the game, like I didn’t know I was there and I went to that game!” she continued. “That is just wild to me.”
“I don’t know, it was just meant to be,” the gymnast concluded her post.

Livvy Dunne and Paul Skenes
Dunne and Skenes made their relationship public in August 2023. They first sparked dating rumors when she was spotted wearing his jersey at the College World Series in June 2023.
Since then, the pair have stepped out alongside each other at various events.
In July 2024, Dunne and Skenes attended the MLB All-Star game in Arlington, Texas, where the baseball pro made his All-Star Game debut. This year, the couple walked the red carpet together for the 2025 MLB All-Star Game in Atlanta.

In July 2025, the Sports Illustrated model spoke with PEOPLE exclusively at the 2025 Fanatics Fest about their one relationship rule they both follow and how they make things work with their busy schedules.
“We don’t restrict each other from doing things,” Dunne told PEOPLE, explaining, “I’ve been in relationships in the past like that — where it’s almost like you have a leash on you, you can’t do anything.”
“But he has a job to do and I have a job to do — I know that’s so important for two young kids in a relationship to realize,” she shared. “So yeah, we just have a good time and it’s a two-way road.”
She added, “I’m trying to go to as many baseball games as I can. I really just enjoy watching him and he’s always on the go. He’s an athlete, so I get it. I get the grind.”
