Live updates: Trump visits federal law enforcement patrolling DC

2 Min Read

President Trump on Thursday visited National Guard and other law enforcement officials in DC amid his efforts to crack down on crime in the nation’s capital.

Earlier in the afternoon, California Democrats passed a ballot measure that will ask Californians to approve new, temporary congressional maps, a key step in Gov. Gavin Newsom’s (D) response to GOP-led redistricting in Texas.

The Golden State lawmakers’ approval comes as the Texas state Senate takes up its new congressional maps later on Thursday. Trump is pushing for the new lines to give Republicans a boost of five seats in Congress.

This morning, a New York appeals court also dealt a blow to Attorney General Letitia James on Thursday in finding that the roughly $500 million fine against Trump in his civil fraud case was excessive. The ruling upheld the judgment against the president and his sons.
