LIVE Video: Trump, Putin expected to speak after high-stakes Alaska summit

President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin briefly met with the press after what Trump called a “productive” meeting that did not reach an agreement on Ukraine.

Trump did not detail a solid agreement, but he said he would be reaching out to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and other key allies to give a readout of the summit in Alaska.

The two world leaders met for about three hours alongside senior Russian and U.S. officials, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio and special envoy Steve Witkoff, and two Russian aides.

The Hill’s Brett Samuels is in the White House press pool, with a front-row seat to the events in Alaska.

Ahead of departure, Trump posted “HIGH STAKES!!!” on his Truth Social platform. Russia seemed to agree, as Kirill Dmitriev, CEO of Russia’s sovereign wealth fund, reposted Trump on the social platform X and commented, “True.”

He greeted Putin with applause as they met on the tarmac ahead of the historic summit.

Meanwhile, in Washington, the Justice Department and District of Colubmia were in court over Attorney General Pam Bondi order that ended the city’s policies that kept police from working with Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The order had also named Terry Cole, the Drug Enforcement Administration’s head, the District’s “emergency police commissioner,” giving him command over the police department.

D.C. Attorney General Brian Schwalb (D) sued Trump. DOJ agreed to back away the Cole appointment after a federal judge expressed concerns Friday.
