President Trump and first lady Melania Trump are visiting Texas Hill Country, the scene on July 4 of devastating flooding that killed at least 120 people, with dozens still missing.
Upon his departure from the White House on Friday morning, the president called the flooding “a horrible thing.”
“Nobody can even believe it, such a thing, that much water that fast without a dam break. You’d think a dam would have to break to have it,” Trump said. “So it’s a terrible thing, but we’re going to be there with some of the great families and others, the Governor, everybody. It’s going to be great.”
The president, who landed in San Antonio around noon local time, will head to Kerrville, where he will survey damage, meet with families and is expected to join local and state officials for a roundtable.
