Lindsay Lohan’s young son, Luai, is just now figuring out that his mommy might be famous — and he had the most precious reaction in a lightbulb moment.
In a clip from her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday, which Entertainment Weekly is debuting exclusively, below, Lohan tells Fallon about an incident earlier in the day when Luai, 2, thought his mother was trapped inside the TV screen.
“Actually, this morning, he was with my in-laws and my husband and I were doing Good Morning America, and he was like, ‘Mommy, come out! Mommy!'” Lohan recalls, laughing. “He thought I was stuck in the TV.”
“So now I’m like, now that he’s getting older and more aware, I’m kind of scared. I don’t want him…to get confused,” she continues.
In case Luai happens to be watching his movie star mom on this show, Fallon then waves at the camera and declares, “Mommy’s fine, Mommy’s safe, Mommy says, ‘Hi!’ We’re good, we’re happy, everything’s great.”
As for which of her movies she’d be comfortable showing her son anytime soon, Lohan says, “Herbie: Fully Loaded, because it’s cars and fun.” Watch the full video with Lohan below.

Next up for Lohan, the star reprises her role as Anna Coleman alongside Jamie Lee Curtis in the legacy sequel Freakier Friday.
The film, a follow-up to the 2003 hit Freaky Friday, holds a special place in Lohan’s heart because it marks the star’s first onscreen role as a mother.
“I played [a mother] in Labor Pains for a second at the very end, but you didn’t see it,” Lohan told Entertainment Weekly of her 2009 comedy. “I’ve never played a mom before onscreen, so it’s special to me.”
Curtis, who is a mother of two herself, also apparently felt the weight of the moment, telling EW that she even gave her costar a special piece of jewelry for the production to commemorate it all.

“The necklace I’m wearing, which I also gave to Lindsay, has our children’s names engraved on the back, I wear it in the movie,” she revealed. “It’s the first time I’ve ever worn something of mine as Tess.”
Lohan also discussed how her son factors into which roles she signs on for amid her big Hollywood comeback; not only do they need to be parts she wants to play, but they have to “work for my family,” she explained.
“If something works around that, it’s meant to happen. If it doesn’t work around that, it’s a no-go,” Lohan added.
Freakier Friday is in theaters Aug. 8.
