Lindsay Lohan’s beauty evolution is one for the books.
During a Monday, July 28, appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the actress, 39, reflected on her signature look from her teenage years.
While discussing her new movie Freakier Friday, host Jimmy Fallon presented Lohan with a photo from the original Freaky Friday premiere in 2003. In the snap, Lohan poses with costar Jamie Lee Curtis while wearing a metallic dress and smoky makeup look.
“I wore way too much black eyeliner in my teens,” Lohan quips after looking at the photo.
The Mean Girls actress also shared how the sequel came about 12 years later.
“Jamie was getting asked a lot about it when she was on the tour for Halloween,” she told Fallon. “And then I started getting asked about it. And then it made sense that I could, as a very young mom, have a teenager. So, the math was mathing, I would say.”

At a New York City special screening of Freakier Friday on Monday, Lohan revealed what she would do if she Freaky Friday swapped with her teenage self.
“Me as a teenager tomorrow now? I would go to the gym, which I know I didn’t do then,” she shared with a laugh.
The star also opened up about Freaky Friday swapping with her 2-year-old son, Luai, whom she shares with her husband, Bader Shammas.
“Oh my gosh. I don’t know. I mean, if I were him, I would go to the park as him because he loves to go to the park. And if he were me, he, I don’t know, he can’t have tea ’cause he is too young,” she told PEOPLE. “Maybe ice cream.”

On the purple carpet, Lohan appeared in a white, ruched Jacquemus midi dress, which featured a tulle hem reminiscent of the signature tutu Sarah Jessica Parker’s character wore in Sex and the City.
“Feeling blessed at the NYC premiere 💚💜 Freakier Friday feels with a little family love and a nod to Carrie Bradshaw 🗽✨ #freakierfriday,” the actress captioned an Instagram post filled with photos of her at Monday’s premiere.
Lohan’s stylist, Andrew Mukamal, also shouted out Bradshaw in his Instagram Stories, including a throwback picture of the character wearing the iconic tutu.

Throughout the film’s press tour, Lohan has been nodding to some of her past roles.
Earlier Monday, the actress appeared on Good Morning America in a two-piece Balmain butter yellow set, similar to The Parent Trap’s Annie James’ British preppy style but with a “freakier Friday twist.”
For an interview on Live with Kelly & Mark, she opted for a fitted Roberto Cavalli cheongsam-inspired minidress, which was an homage to her Parent Trap character Hallie Parker.
Freakier Friday arrives in theaters on Aug. 8.
