Liam and Noel Gallagher are never ones to play by the rules — but Liam is taking this one seriously, scolding fans who break out into fights in the crowd.
During Oasis’ gig Scotland on Monday, August 12, the “Champagne Supernova” rocker, 52, told the audience that his famous tambourine and maracas toss — a fan-favorite — could no longer happen after multiple fan fights over the instruments.
“I can’t throw my tambourine out tonight or my maracas, I’ve been told not to,” he told the crowd, per The Sun. The rest of his speech was captured in fan footage uploaded on TikTok.
“I’ve just been told, ‘Don’t do any of that s**t anymore,’ because you don’t know how to behave yourselves,” the musician explained, receiving major boos from the crowd.
Continuing to speak to the audience, the “Wonderwall” singer continued to berate the rowdy fans who ruin the show for others. “You keep pinching each other on your nipples and ears and f***ing s**t like that and kneeing each other in the bollocks,” he added.
Last week, one of these fan incidents went viral after two men allegedly a female fan bruised and a bit bloody after trying to pry Liam’s maracas out of her hands. She had caught them in her 11th row seat.
“‘I was literally shouting ”You’re hurting me. You are going to snap my fingers.’ He would not let go. The strength they used was unreal. I’ve never experienced anything like it,” the woman said after the ordeal, per the Daily Mail.
As much as fans are thrilled to see the long-estranged Gallagher brothers reunited again, Oasis’ reunion tour has made headlines for multiple fan incidents since the tour began — the most tragic being an audience member who fell to his death at the band’s August 2 show at London’s Wembley Arena.
“We are shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic death of a fan at the show last night,” Liam and Noel said in a statement at the time, per The Guardian. “Oasis would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the person involved.”
