Led Zeppelin icon Robert Plant‘s former mansion in Wales is on sale.
It’s not just any rockstar manse, however — Plant’s previous home is so prestigious that it has its own name, The Argoed, and has housed numerous historical figures. According to U.K. real estate site Right Move, the sprawling, 10-acre property was once visited by King Charles I in the 1600s, and was where George Bernard Shaw wrote two of his plays: The Man of Destiny and Mrs. Warren’s Profession, both in the 1890s.
Plant, for his part, moved into the seven-bedroom, four-bathroom home — which is located in the Welsh town of Pennalt — in 1985, per the New York Post, moving out about five years later.
The “Stairway to Heaven” singer, who shares four adult children with ex-wife Maureen Wilson, had reunited with Led Zeppelin at Live Aid the same year he purchased the Welsh mansion. The iconic rock band had broken up five years earlier, after the death of drummer John Bonham, and reunited at the benefit show for a one-off performance.
As for his previous residence, The Argoed boasts “five reception rooms, principal suite, wood paneled guest suite and five further bedrooms,” according to its listing. The mansion has “a total of four bathrooms,” as well as a “kitchen/breakfast room, guest cloakroom, two utility rooms, integral garage, gardener’s workshop and WC, greenhouse, stable block and five additional rooms across the entire second floor.”
The property, which sits on more than 10 acres, offers “breathtaking views across the valley,” as well as a Japanese garden.
