Dustin Hoffman is celebrating a major milestone today — he’s turning 88!
The iconic actor has been working in Hollywood for the majority of his life, spending the past six decades appearing in films like Rain Man, The Graduate and, more recently, Meet the Fockers.
Over the years, Hoffman created a legendary career, which has included two Oscars for Best Actor, and he’s showing no signs of slowing down. In 2024, Hoffman starred in two films, and he currently has three other on screen projects in the works.
While he’s self-admittedly in his “third act” of life, Hoffman believes that aging is a beautiful gift and not something to take for granted.

After the premiere of his 2012 film Quartet, which follows a group of aging opera singers and musicians living in a home together, Hoffman shared his profound thoughts on growing older.
Instead of trying to hide aging through plastic surgery procedures and miracle fixes, Hoffman shared that he wanted to see the age on people’s faces — and believes that it makes them more beautiful.
“As a culture, we tend to let people disappear at a certain age, no matter how well they still can do their craft,” Hoffman candidly shared with Parade. “The faces in this movie are faces of what people look like as they age. People have surgical procedures to pretend that they’re not what they are. There’s something very strange about that.”
He continued, “I think seeing what life does to you and how it etches itself on your face is quite a beautiful thing. I don’t want to see someone with plastic surgeries, I want to see life. I think people get more and more beautiful with age.”
