The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ second season debuts Thursday, May 15, on Hulu and Disney+
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season two will feature a very special guest.
Appearing at the Walt Disney Upfronts on Tuesday, May 13, alongside castmate Jessi Ngatikaura, Layla Taylor reveals that not only does she have a boyfriend at the moment, but that fans will meet him in the hit Hulu series’ second season.
“Season two, I have a boyfriend, so I’m excited to show that aspect of dating as a single mom, especially in Utah,” she tells PEOPLE.
Laughing, she adds, “The Utah dating scene is actually atrocious, so I’m excited to share that part of it with the audience and kind of have them see it.”

In another recent conversation with PEOPLE, Layla talked about her dating life. While she didn’t reveal the identity of her boyfriend, she shared that it’s “a lot more challenging” dating as a single mom.
“Because I’m not just dating for myself. I am dating to potentially find somebody that would be a stepfather to my children, so it’s super important to find the perfect guy,” she explained, telling PEOPLE she’s been “very picky, as I should be.”
She also said it’s important that she has a partner who is “okay with having a coparenting dynamic be at the forefront.”

“I’m still prioritizing my ex, not prioritizing him, but making sure that he’s still involved in decisions,” she explains of her coparenting with ex Clayton Wessel, with whom she shares sons Oliver and Max.
Additionally, she’s figuring out how she feels about “someone that wants kids of their own and things like that.”
“So definitely I have to think of a lot of things that you don’t have to think about when you don’t have kids, but I think it helps me weed out a lot of bad guys, which is a positive,” Layla said.
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives‘ highly anticipated new season will premiere May 15, with all 10 episodes available on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.
