The glitz and glamour of the red carpet isn’t ever lost on Lana Del Rey, who has walked the steps of New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art on the first Monday in May for the fourth time in a row. For the 2025 Met Gala, the “Bluebird” singer dove headfirst into the event’s “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” theme, wearing a billowing black velvet and brown satin gown complete with bow and feather accents, designed by Valentino creative director Alessandro Michele.

Del Rey’s beauty look was just as meticulously crafted as her outfit. The star’s hair, created by celebrity stylist Anna Cofone, featured an array of expertly placed pin curls styled into a red carpet-worthy updo, with her makeup kept soft yet impactful. “Lana’s look channels the elegance of Black dandyism and a nod to 1950s glamour,” the star’s makeup artist Pamela Cochrane exclusively tells Bazaar. To channel old Hollywood glamour, Cochrane and team used a range of Anastasia Beverly Hills palettes, pencils, and glosses, like the Impeccable Blurring Second Skin matte foundation and the Lip Velvet liquid lipstick in the shade Pink Sand.

Apart from the star’s hair and wardrobe stylings, her edgy, sculptural eyebrows were the true stars of her sophisticated Met Gala look this year. “We kept the brow sharp and precise, almost architectural, like they were drawn on with intent,” Cochrane continues. “The lips were soft and powdery, like velvet. Keeping it classic but with a quiet edge.”
