Lana Del Rey has arrived at the 2025 Met Gala, marking her fourth appearance at fashion’s biggest night. Known for her vintage-inspired style, the singer is once again stepping onto the carpet with a look that channels noir-era elegance.
The “Summertime Sadness” singer wore a look from the Valentino Vertigineux Haute Couture Collection by creative director Alessandro Michele.
The gown combines black velvet and brown satin, accented with lace, a black bow, and dramatic feathers.
Over the years, Del Rey has become known for interpreting the Met’s themes with a cinematic approach. In 2024, she wore a corseted Alexander McQueen gown accented with twigs, a transparent veil, and a crown of hawthorn branches—echoing the “Garden of Time” theme.
In 2018, she coordinated with Gucci’s then-creative director Alessandro Michele on a cream gown featuring gold embellishments and a dramatic winged headpiece.
She’s worked with stylists including Johnny Blueeyes and, more recently, Molly Dickson, crafting an aesthetic that fuses old Hollywood glamour with romantic Americana.
Some of her recent looks have embraced a softer, Southern-influenced aesthetic, featuring heirloom fabrics, demure silhouettes, and pretty details. At the 2025 Stagecoach Festival, she wore a custom ivory Valentino lace dress styled with white tights and bows; the look was widely cited as one of the festival’s most fashion-forward moments, and a prime example of how Del Rey interprets trends on her own terms.
The shift in style arrives alongside a musical transition as well. Del Rey is preparing to release her 10th studio album later this month, following a string of new singles, including “Henry, come on” and “Bluebird.”
