Coachella is the perfect time to experiment with spring’s hottest new trends. Kylie and Kendall Jenner both seemed to take a style cue from fashion’s latest obsession with butter yellow, although they opted for two very different interpretations of the color.
Kendall wore a spring picnic look in a drop-waist midi dress by Proenza Schouler, fittingly called the Kendall dress (the piece is unfortunately sold out, but you can peruse similar options in our round-up of the best spring dresses here). The dress has a scooped neckline, side pleatings, and—yes, even—pockets. It’s the kind of look you’d want to wear while lounging on a blanket in the sun or, say, promoting your 818 Tequila brand in the Colorado Desert. The theme of the event was “1970s Autocamp Soiréee,” and Kendall definitely understood the assignment, finishing the look with black sunglasses and flatform sandals from the Row.
When she wasn’t busy stealing kisses from Timothée Chalamet, Kylie sported a flashier take on the yellow trend. She opted for a fun bodycon latex dress with a plunging neckline. Kylie also hosted a brand event for her Sprinter vodka soda line (although she made sure to include a cameo of Kendall’s 818 in her Instagram carousel, too). In another shot, she accessorized the bold dress with a blue baseball hat that read, “Palm Springs state of mind” (in butter yellow font of course).
If you ask me, the sisters aced both of their respective marketing events—especially because these bright butter yellow looks make you want to sip a cocktail by the pool!
