Kristen Doute is giving Jax Taylor a stern warning!

On Thursday, May 1, Doute, 42, posted screenshots of a conversation between herself and her Valley costar, 45, requesting that he come up with his own merch instead of allegedly copying hers.

“Jax, kindly remove your ‘Valley’ merch immediately. It is an exact and clear rip off of James Mae,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories, along with three images of him and two models wearing the merch.

She originally launched her James Mae clothing line in 2014, but has since celebrated a couple of relaunches.

“Yeah I shot myself in the foot I think a little bit with that,” she told PEOPLE at a 2018 relaunch event, promising that the brand’s name had nothing to do with her ex-boyfriend and costar James Kennedy.

“But no, it’s not about DJ James Kennedy. The line I named at the two most important people in my life, other than my mother, which are my niece and nephew,” she said at the time.

Laughing, she added, “The only important James in my life.”

At the event, she insisted that she “never really let go of James Mae,” but needed to relaunch because she “needed a new direction.”

“I really didn’t know what I was doing. It was just a passion project, I wanted to do it and I was going to make it happen regardless,” Doute told PEOPLE.

During the interview, her business partner Magen Mattox told PEOPLE, “Kristen’s vibe is definitely ’70s rock and roll,” which inspired their revamped designs.

In 2019, they made another adjustment, moving the company’s manufacturing from overseas to downtown Los Angeles.

“Ideally, I think that is the goal to go completely sustainable,” Mattox said, WWD reported.

By 2024, the reality star and mama had relaunched again.

“The whole reason for doing this friends and family only party for James Mae is just to get the word out about the relaunch,” Kristen said in Episode 8 of The Valley, per Bravo. “So that’s why we’re gifting these new shirts before they go on the website. Take some cool photos and tell all your friends.”

Taylor’s clothing and merchandise, which features mugs with his podcast logo, can be found online with Shopify.
