KJ Apa’s latest movie,The Map That Leads to You, sees him baring his backside — but before filming the movie, he didn’t know that he’d need to get naked for the NSFW scene.
The Riverdale actor, 28, appeared on the Aug. 13 episode of Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM radio show, Andy Cohen Live, and discussed the Prime Video movie ahead of its premiere on Aug. 20.

“KJ, of course, will not say it, but I’m going to say something that may sell the movie to a lot of you who are wondering whether to go see it,” Cohen told the actor. “You can very clearly see KJ’s ass in the movie.”
The Hate U Give star confirmed the host’s claim and replied, “You can.” He then revealed that he was unaware that he’d be stripping down for a scene in the movie that required his butt to be visible in a shot.

“It’s hairy, too … I didn’t know that day that I was going to be showing my ass,” he explained. “Had I known, maybe I would’ve shaved it.”

Cohen then asked, “They didn’t say, ‘Hey, by the way, tomorrow’s your ass shot. You want to be doing your squats’?”
“No, because originally [co-star Madelyn Cline] was meant to be naked in the shower, and then something happened that day, and then I said I’ll do it,” Apa explained.

The film, according to the official synopsis, follows “Heather (Cline), a young woman traveling Europe with friends before starting her perfectly planned life. A chance meeting with Jack (Apa) sparks an unexpected romance that leads to deep emotional discovery. As secrets and life choices test their bond, her path changes forever.”
The new movie is based on the book of the same name by J.P. Monninger and additionally stars Sofia Wylie, Madison Thompson, Josh Lucas and Orlando Norman.
