Meghan Markle’s not the only one in the royal orbit with a knack for product drops. On Friday, August 1, King Charles casually entered the luxury pet space with a line of hand-baked dog treats straight from the Balmoral Castle kitchens.

“Our Royal Dog Treats are now available online as part of the Balmoral Pet Collection,” Balmoral Castle posted on Instagram. “Hand-baked in the Balmoral Castle kitchens, these 100% natural biscuits are lovingly made in small batches using wholemeal flour, egg, and chicken stock… Shop now via link in bio.”

Each £5 ($6.40 USD) bag contains 75g of what the Castle calls “wholesome goodness your dog will love.”

But the biscuits are just one part of the Balmoral Pet Collection. The line also includes a Balmoral tweed collar (about $41), a matching lead ($51), a tweed treat bag ($38), and a coat of arms dog bowl ($36).

There’s even a “Happy Hound” tweed coat, sold through the Sandringham Estate shop for around $58. It’s marketed as “stylish, machine washable and with a water layer… perfect for frosty winter walks.”

The launch comes just as Markle—Charles’s daughter-in-law—continues to build momentum around her lifestyle brand, As Ever.

Formerly known as American Riviera Orchard, the brand first made headlines in April 2024, when the Duchess of Sussex sent out jars of homemade strawberry jam to friends like Chrissy Teigen, Mindy Kaling, and Kris Jenner. That soft launch went viral, and earlier this year, she rebranded the company and officially launched its first products in April.

The current lineup includes jams, teas, honey, baking mixes, and a Napa Valley rosé—all of which sold out quickly, according to Business Insider. Trademark filings and media coverage suggest that tableware, cookbooks, home goods, and even pet items could be on the way.

To mark her 44th birthday on August 4, As Ever posted a black-and-white photo of Markle in a linen dress and sunhat, with a caption celebrating “the woman behind it all.” The brand also confirmed its signature Napa Valley Rosé would be restocked August 5—the first drop since its June 20 debut.

The timing didn’t go unnoticed, landing just days after the British sovereign’s dog biscuit debut. But while it raised a few eyebrows, there’s no indication the two royal ventures are connected. Charles’s luxe pet line and Markle’s California kitchen vibe aren’t exactly competing… unless your dog drinks wine and spreads jam on toast.
