Kim Kardashian can bounce back (from a wardrobe malfunction) like no other.
The reality television star, 44, turned heads at the 2025 Met Gala in a Chrome Hearts leather look, making her outfit one of the most talked about throughout the night. However, pulling off the fashion statement unfortunately did not go without a hitch, particularly in the glam department.
The moment happened inside the tent, just as she was adjusting her bust in a form-fitting leather corset. As she went to adjust her top’s collar, what appeared to be an acrylic nail snapped off her middle finger. She recovered from the mishap though, curling her hand into a fist to hide her missing nail.
Thankfully, a security guard was there to swiftly pick up press-on and, in no time, Kardashian was back posing for the cameras.
A bystander outside of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where all of the star-studded glitz took place on May 5, filmed the incident and shared the clip to TikTok.

Earlier in the night, Kardashian nearly came face to face with a wardrobe malfunction at The Mark Hotel, the famous N.Y.C. accommodation that hosts many of the Met Gala attendees every year.
Just as she was leaving the hotspot, a security guard had awkwardly tripped over the train of her skirt, causing nary a dramatic reaction from Kardashian except a hair flip.

Still, the hiccups couldn’t keep the SKIMS mogul from enjoying her 12th Met. On Instagram, she posted a series of red carpet photos and shared the backstory behind her look for the “Superfine Tailoring and Black Style” theme and “Tailored for You” dress code.

“Inspired by Lenny Kravitz, a modern dandy whose fluid, bold aesthetic, alongside icons like Jimi Hendrix and Miles Davis, pioneered distinct and culturally significant aesthetics — shaping the way men dress for generations to come. Lenny’s signature Chrome Hearts style perfectly captures the spirit of this theme — Black style, razor-sharp tailoring, and dandy tradition.”

She also enjoyed the night with her daughter North West, 11, by her side. Speaking with Emma Chamberlain for Vogue, she said that she loves bringing her oldest daughter with her to prepare for the big event, to “just to see me get ready and all her aunties are in the hotel” (this year, Kylie and Kendall Jenner attended).
Kardashian also dished on how her kid is a “big critiquer” when it comes to fashion. “It’s pretty good,” she said of her daughter’s feedback, adding that North is not as harsh these days and instead encourages her mom to be herself.
