Kim Kardashian Goes Pantsless in Sheer Black Lingerie From 27 Years Prior

Kim Kardashian loves an iconic vintage moment. The world will never forget when she showed up to the 2022 Met Gala in Marilyn Monroe’s Jean Louis dress. Or when she waltzed across the red carpet at the 2020 Vanity Fair Oscar Party in Alexander McQueen’s spring/summer 2003 Oyster dress. Or, most recently, when she walked in Balenciaga’s Paris Fashion Week show wearing $400,000-worth of diamonds that belonged to Elizabeth Taylor herself. It goes without saying, Kardashian has a museum-level fashion archive, and she just added another legendary ensemble to the mix.

The Skims founder dug out an incredible lingerie look from Thierry Mugler’s fall/winter 1998/1999 collection. The black one-piece features long sleeves, a turtleneck, sheer panels throughout, a corset design, built-in thigh-high socks, a lace-up back, cheeky thong underwear, and shiny black sparkles everywhere. To add to all the drama, Kardashian added a huge, lush black fur coat, similarly to how it was styled on the runway.

The 44-year-old styled her dark tresses up in a sleek top knot. She glammed up with dewy makeup, complete with defined eyebrows, fluttery eyelashes, glowy skin, a glossy lip, and a long nude-pink manicure.

She shared photos of the head-turning look to her Instagram, along with snaps from the 90s showcase. “Mugler Magic,” she captioned the slideshow.

This is not the first time Kardashian has rocked an archival piece from the French fashion house. At the 2024 Academy Museum Gala, she looked ethereal in an icy-white corset with a basque waist and plunging neckline and matching trailing, hooded cape. The co-ord hails from Mugler’s spring 1998 couture collection.

Although not a vintage moment, Kardashian also memorably wore Mugler to the 2019 Met Gala. She came dripping in crystals, clad in a latex minidress that featured a plunging neckline, short cap sleeves, button-up design, built-in belt, and ruching details.
