Kim Cattrall was 41 years old in 1998 when she began playing Samantha Jones, her now-iconic character from Sex and the City. At a time when teen shows ruled, it was refreshing to see a 40-something embracing aging and sexuality in a bold, unapologetic way. For the next six years, Cattrall became the ultimate style and beauty icon, proving we only get better with age. Now, at 68, her career is still going strong, and she’s added beauty ambassador to her resumé.

Cattrall starred in a Mother’s Day-themed ad for Lancôme’s Rénergie Triple Serum Retinol, speaking about its anti-aging benefits. Cattrall revealed she’s been a long-time user of Lancôme products, ever since her 20s.

“Today I celebrate my mother and all of those who have chosen motherhood,” she says in an Instagram reel. “My career—that has always been my baby—and I’ve navigated my other-hood with lots of self care. I nurture my skin with Rénergie Triple Serum Retinol. It’s the boost of love and attention that my skin needs with vitamin C, peptides and pure retinol.”

She concludes the video with her signature smirk, saying: “Look we all know this is an ad, but this will fade your wrinkles—not your smile.”

The new Lancôme serum may be on the pricey side, but it’s basically a three-in-one product. There are three chambers, one with pure retinol, one with peptides and the last with pure vitamin C. They work together to smooth skin texture, brighten and reduce the appearance of pores.

This isn’t the first Lancôme product Cattrall has raved about. She also loves Idôle Flutter Extension Lengthening Mascara, which launched in March. “This tiny brush—it hits all the right spots,” she joked in an accompanying video. Everyone loved it because it was just so Kim Cattrall. And that’s what makes her so relatable.

In an interview with People, the actress reveals how she continues to deliver such an effortlessly sexy vibe. “I think the sexiest thing about most people is when they’re not trying to be somebody else,” she said. “You get a very strong feeling even through watching someone on camera that it’s really them. It’s not a carbon copy, that’s them. You get a true essence of it. And I think that’s why the first ad [for the mascara] was so incredibly successful in getting hits and views.”

That’s something we can all get behind!
