Kerry Washington is dazzling in sheer!

The actress, 48, wore a sheer black dress to the 2025 Brooklyn Artists Ball at the Brooklyn Museum in New York City on Tuesday, April 29.

She shared pictures of the sexy look on Instagram, with the caption, “Night at the {BROOKLYN} Museum, in @dior.”

Washington’s ensemble consisted of a sheer black dress with a high neckline and thick straps. The dress was covered in diamond eyelets from the waist down, while the top half had a lace detail.

Underneath the dress, the actress wore a matching set of black underwear. She accessorized the outfit with a thick black belt and two layered necklaces. The first necklace was a bronze chain choker with a bee pendant. The second was a long gold statement necklace covered in seashells, starfish and pearls.

Washington also rocked a gold ring with a pearl in the center.

The Scandal star went all out with her glam, wearing her hair in an updo with curtain bangs framing her face. She wore brown shadow, black lashes and light pink lipstick.

The carousel included several photos of her posing on the Brooklyn Bridge with the N.Y.C. skyline in the background.

Several people praised her look in the comments, with actress Selma Blair saying, “wow. wow. wow,” and Insecure alum Yvonne Orji writing, “Thighs out, Funs out!”

Per the Brooklyn Museum, the Artists Ball is “one of the art world’s most cherished, vibrant, and inspiring annual events.” The event included a reception, gala dinner and after-party. This year, the ball honored Ford Foundation president Darren Walker and was sponsored by Dior.

Washington opened up about what the event means to her in an interview with Vogue, saying, “Every conversation you have with Darren, you feel seen, heard, and valued more. He’s always been an inspiration. I’m so proud of him and not at all surprised by this honor—he deserves this kind of celebration.”

This was Washington’s first time in attendance at the event, per the outlet.

“Cultural institutions are really in danger right now because of the threats to funding for the arts and humanities. Nights like this are vital; they support the spaces that reflect our shared humanity,” she said.
