Ken Jennings Reveals What Makes Ryan Seacrest So Frustrating originally appeared on Parade.
Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings revealed some buzzworthy tidbits about working on the stage next to where Ryan Seacrest and Vanna White film Wheel of Fortune. Jennings admitted that there is something about Seacrest that he finds somewhat frustrating and unfair.
Luckily, the complaints Jennings shared were not malicious at all. In fact, the comments came as Jennings praised Seacrest, and he admitted he’s grateful Seacrest doesn’t have an eye on his Jeopardy! gig.
Jennings talked with TV Insider about running into the Wheel of Fortune stars, who film at the Sony Studio Lot in Los Angeles next to the Jeopardy! stage. He described the stages for the two shows as being separated by “a little breezeway,” and he has spent time with both Seacrest and White.
He described White as “just the most delightful person, so sweet, unchanged by her decades of being a TV legend. She is the best.” Jennings also mentioned that he and White share the same hairstylist.
The Jeopardy! host recently met Seacrest for the first time since he stepped into his Wheel of Fortune gig. “He has just made that transition seamlessly,” Jennings said of Seacrest. “It’s almost frustrating to see,” he added.
Jennings recalled watching Seacrest’s first day of filming Wheel of Fortune via a live feed. “I was just thinking, ‘Wow, this guy is so good on day one.’ It’s not fair. The kind of TV talent that guy has,” he shared.
He added, “He’s been in the business for a long time, a total professional. There is no show, no format, I think would rattle Ryan Seacrest, so I’m very glad he has not expressed any interest in Jeopardy!”
Jennings first appeared on Jeopardy!more than two decades ago, and he went on to have a 74-game winning streak. After host Alex Trebek’s death in November 2020, Jennings stepped into the role. He has since become the sole Jeopardy! host and was nominated for an Emmy award in both 2023 and 2024.
