Kelsea Ballerini‘s boyfriend Chase Stokes is clarifying the couple’s relationship status amid rumors about their romance.
Earlier this month, fans began speculating that the couple had called it quits due to some unusual activity on Ballerini’s social media accounts. According to one follower, Ballerini had deleted a photo from a Fourth of July photo dump as well as several TikTok videos that featured the actor.
While the couple haven’t directly spoken out about the rumors, the pair have made it clear that they’re still together.
Over the weekend, Stokes subtly shut down the breakup rumors with a single photo on Instagram. He shared a photo of Ballerini’s dog Dibs, adding a red heart emoji on top of the photo — proving that the pair were together.

On top of that, Ballerini and Stokes were also spotted on a dinner date in Nashville, in footage captured by a fan on TikTok.
While the couple are definitely still together, it’s not the first time they’ve faced rumors about their relationship. Back in February, Ballerini cancelled several concerts, which caused fans to speculate that she might be pregnant.
Ballerini shut those rumors down too, responding to a comment that asked “Maybe pregnant?” with a video saying, “Or maybe it’s the flu.” In the caption she added, “Anyway, feeling better and can’t wait to see you tonight Buffalo.”
The couple have been linked since early 2023, after Ballerini slid into Stokes’ DMs after a night of drinking with some friends. Just a month later, they met up for the first time — and their connection was instant.
Ballerini and Stokes have been going strong ever since — with a handful of Ballerini’s songs being written about her actor beau.
“Being with another creative, we both understand each other’s process,” she told PEOPLE. “I would never ask him to not take a role that he feels inspired by, and he would never ask me to round the edges of my songwriting. That’s one of the things I appreciate the most about him.”
