All My Children alumni, Kelly Ripa and husband Mark Consuelos are returning to their soap opera roots with a brand-new project, Summer Breeze, for Audible.
The 10-episode audio drama is described as, “When a young, struggling screenwriter’s greatest dream turns into a nightmare after her script is stolen by an uber-powerful male producer, she forms a surprising alliance with a former soap opera star harboring secrets of her own. Together, these two devise a daring, twisted plan to seek justice against the producer through the long-running soap opera Summer Breeze. They will turn the producer’s monstrosity into their art. As they navigate the cutthroat politics and general lunacy of the daytime TV industrial-complex, their scheme takes on a life of its own, blurring the lines between fiction and reality. Deception, forbidden romance, and jaw-dropping revelations unfold with each episode, building to an explosive climax worthy of the daytime soap that provides our setting.”
Joining the cast is Ripa and Consuelos’ real life son Michael Consuelos.
Additional voices rounding out the the cast include Friday Night Lights alumni Zack Gilford, Talia Balsam, Adriane Lenox, Grey Henson and Ally Sheedy.
The series is written by Aaron Tracy and has a run time of three hours and six minutes.
Rip and Consuelos met on the set of All My Children and have continued working together since. In 2020 the couple announced the development of a primetime reboot of All My Children for ABC entitled Pine Valley with creator Leo Richardson. The series was described as, “A young journalist with a secret agenda comes to expose the dark and murderous history of a town named Pine Valley only to become entangled in a feud between the Kane and Santos families.” However, there has been no official update on the project since its announcement.

Consuelos credits include Queen of the South, Pitch, Riverdale, Hope & Faith, Alpha House, The Night Shift, The girls on the Bus, and LIVE with Kelly and Mark.
