Rumors have been swirling that Kelly Clarkson will be leaving her talk show and will be replaced by former Today host, Hoda Kotb. Now, Page Six reports that Kotb will be making an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show to discuss life post-morning-television as well as her new wellness brand.
Meanwhile, on the May 28 episode of Today, Kotb herself denied that she will be replacing Clarkson.
“Delete. Delete. That’s not true,” Kotb told Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin. “I want to ask you all a real question. Do you think that if I ever came back to TV … do you know the only place I would ever come back is? Right here, this is the spot. There’s no place like home.”
Rumors that Clarkson was leaving her daytime talk show kicked into high gear when she missed two weeks of her show for unspecified reasons back in March. A variety of fill-in hosts took on Clarkson’s job, including Simu Liu, who addressed Clarkson’s absence while he was filling in.

“Kelly isn’t able to make it today. We’re sending her our very best. I did not know that I was doing this until about five minutes ago when I arrived to promote my new movie ‘Last Breath’,” he told the audience, according to People magazine. “I’m here now, and look, I’m not one to back down from a challenge.”
Clarkson hasn’t addressed her absence, though sources say that she was dealing with a family emergency. And while she’s been back in action for two months, rumors that she wants to leave the show to spend more time with her kids — River and Remington, whom she shares with ex-husband Brandon Blackstock — an NBC source told Page Six that Clarkson has no intention of leaving.
