Kel Mitchell may have been cultivating a devoted fan base for decades, but his children are his biggest fans.
While chatting exclusively with PEOPLE at the 2025 Kids’ Choice Awards, the Good Burger star, 46, opened up about how his kids feel about their dad’s fame. When asked if his kids’ friends ask for him when they come over, the Kenan & Kel alum says, “Oh yeah, they know instantly, or it’s Game Shakers, because I play Double G in that. And they’ll ask me to do a lot of that stuff too, as well.”
He admits that his children don’t get embarrassed by their dad’s fame. In fact, the proud dad tells PEOPLE his children are “like my biggest fans.”
“They love it. They cracked up. They’re like my biggest fans,” he says, before adding, “Wisdom, he’s like my PR.”

Mitchell is dad to kids Honor, 4, and Wisdom, 7, whom he shares with wife Asia Lee, as well as daughter Allure, 23, and son Lyric, 26, whom he shares with ex-wife Tyisha Hampton. The dad of four spoke to PEOPLE about his kids’ acting careers following their appearance in his film, Good Burger 2, last July.
The proud dad told PEOPLE that the kids’ cameos were “for fun,” and noted that he’ll continue to support their acting careers if they end up wanting to follow in dad’s footsteps.
“Well, you know what? It was for fun because they just enjoyed it and wowed the producers. You know what I mean?” Mitchell said. “So it was for fun, but if they want to continue to do it, I’ll support them, but they got to want to do it.”
Mitchell then dished out some advice, telling his kids to “have a good sense of self and faith.”
“And then they have a dad that has been through it so he can actually help them out through it all. But they got to love it,” he added.

Mitchell and Lee revealed that they were expecting their second child together in May 2020, when the comedian enlisted the help of his wife (showing off her baby bump) and their daughter Wisdom to creatively leverage the “Wipe It Down” challenge that was making the rounds on TikTok at the time.
“This Dad Is Going to Be a Daddy Again” read Mitchell’s shirt as the star began wiping a bathroom mirror along to the song. Asia soon joined in wearing a similar “Mom” shirt before their daughter got in on the fun too, smiling along with her parents as they pointed at Asia’s growing belly.
“IT’S A BOY,” the video proclaimed over a blue background at the very end.
