Keith Urban Reportedly ‘Worried’ About Nicole Kidman ‘Overworking’

Keith Urban is reportedly concerned as Nicole Kidman appears to backtrack on her 2025 plan to slow down work and to prioritize her family.

Insiders say the Oscar-winning actress is overextending herself with acting, producing, and charity work while still grieving her mother’s passing.

Though Nicole Kidman finds peace at home and values family time, Keith Urban fears she’s neglecting rest.

Urban is said to be feeling both “concerned” and “exasperated” as his wife Kidman appears to be reversing her plans to ease up on work commitments in 2025.

The actress had previously stated at the premiere of her movie, “Holland,” that she intended to only film that project and the second season of “Nine Perfect Strangers” before dedicating the rest of the year to herself and her family.

However, according to a report by New Idea, the 57-year-old actress was seen back on set filming “Margo’s Got Money Troubles,” which she is starring in and producing, just weeks after making that statement.

“It’s extraordinary. Not even a month later, and already she’s back on set,” the insider shared, per the Daily Mail.

The insider claims Urban is worried Kidman may be pushing herself too hard, stating: “Keith isn’t angry, but he’s worried and understandably very frustrated. He knows how much Nic loves her job, but she keeps moving the goalposts. Instead of putting herself first–something he and the kids need her to do–she’s putting work first every time.”

The source also pointed out that Kidman is yet to fully process the emotional toll of losing her mother, Janelle, in September.

Also, with Urban away on tour, there’s concern she isn’t taking proper care of herself, skipping rest and meals as she throws herself deeper into work.

Though “The Perfect Couple” actress is known to “thrive on work,” and often turns to it as a form of escape, friends say the constant demands are starting to take a visible toll.

“Nicole’s pace isn’t just about acting,” the insider shared. “She’s involved in fashion campaigns, and charities, and she’s always there to help out her mates.”

In 2019, Kidman opened up to InStyle about how important it is for her to return home on weekends to maintain a healthy balance between work and family.

Unlike others who may unwind with social outings, Kidman said she finds comfort in spending time with her husband and children.

“Other people are off doing things like having a girls’ weekend. I don’t have that because I go home,” she said. “I want to be with my children and my husband. I will sort of get lost in a character or whatever I’m doing, but I’m constantly working to keep that balance.”

Describing herself as a natural introvert, the actress admitted she prefers the calm of home life.

“I love my work, and I can push through in different places and explore things, but if you look at my Myers-Briggs [personality] test, yes, I definitely qualify as an introvert,” Kidman explained, per People Magazine. “My home is very nourishing.”

She also shared a simple piece of advice that’s helped her family: “The greatest thing our family priest told us very early on in our marriage was, ‘Always kiss hello and kiss goodbye.’ It just keeps you connected,” she said.

In her recent feature in W Magazine‘s Best Performances issue, Kidman gave fans a rare glimpse into her nearly two-decade-long marriage to country music star Urban.

When asked if she sings in the shower, the “Moulin Rouge” actress laughed and admitted she does, along with her husband.

“I do. I also hear Keith singing in the shower, and I’ll hear his new songs forming,” Kidman revealed.

She then shared one of their secrets to marital bliss: “We have a double shower. The double-headed shower: the key to a successful marriage. Separate commodes and a double-headed shower!”

Kidman and Urban tied the knot in June 2006 at St. Patrick’s Estate in Manly, Sydney. They welcomed two daughters: Sunday Rose in 2008, followed by Faith Margaret in 2010.

The movie star is also a mother to two adopted children, Isabella Jane and Connor Antony, with her ex-husband Tom Cruise.

The recent concerns about Kidman’s well-being come shortly after she enjoyed a picture-perfect Easter celebration in Nashville with her sister Antonia Kidman and niece Lucia Hawley.

The actress looked radiant as she posed barefoot with family at her beautifully decorated home.

A photo from the occasion shared by her niece on Instagram showed a beautiful table spread featuring roast chicken, broccolini, carrots, crispy potatoes, and cornbread, topped off with champagne and a mini basket of chocolate eggs.

Dessert included a golden strawberry tart and a fruit platter of ripe rockmelon, grapes, and berries.
