Spring is here, and frankly, it’s about time. Memorial Day may still be a little way off, but Hollywood’s A-listers have never been afraid to step outside the confines of traditional fashion schedules. Case in point: Katie Holmes’s recent crisp white power suit.
While out in New York City, the Dawson’s Creek alum wore a white twill blazer and pleated trousers over an oversize, preppy blue-and-white striped linen shirt—an effortlessly breezy spring ensemble from Brunello Cucinelli. She contrasted the lightness of the fit with a structured black calfskin leather tote, the BC Duo bag, designed by Carolina and Camilla Cucinelli.

Holmes kept her look refreshingly minimal by skipping accessories altogether. No necklace, no earrings—just a sleek pair of aviator sunglasses to shield her eyes during her stroll. Sometimes less is, in fact, more.
As for her choice of footwear, Holmes leaned into ease, slipping on some brown sandals. The laid-back choice made her polished look all the more wearable (and walkable).
The Our Town star has been a big fan of picking out no-fuss wardrobe staples as of late. During the opening night of David Mamet’s Glengarry Glen Ross at the Palace Theatre in New York City, Holmes slipped into a slinky viscose dark-blue dress that contoured her body and created an effortless elegance.
The halter maxi, made by New York–based boutique brand AFLALO, was the perfect example of the simple yet elevated basic pieces sure to make the rounds this season. She styled the dress with black peep-toe heels and a red leather clutch with a gold buckle from Métier.
