Katie Holmes has no shortage of timeless maxi dresses, and yet, she always manages to pull out the perfect one for every event she attends.
This Sunday, the actor and director wore a simple halter maxi dress in a deep blue to the opening night of David Mamet’s Glengarry Glen Ross at the Palace Theatre in New York City.
The piece—set to become my no-fuss wardrobe staple this spring—is crafted from a slinky, viscose yarn in a jersey stitch. It is sleeveless, with a semi-open back, and its sleek silhouette contours the body and elongates the neck.
It is the Maren Dress in Viscose from New York-based boutique brand AFLALO, and you can shop it for a cool $600.
Holmes wore the dress with silky black heels with a barely-there peep toes (one of her favorite shoe styles as of late), and a firetruck-red leather clutch with a gold buckle. For jewelry, she layered on several bracelets in mixed metals—a former fashion faux pas that is now a super hot trend.
The Our Town star wore chunky gold hoops encrusted with clear crystals on her ears, and she finished her look in the most Katie Holmes way: with a messy bun and moody black-lined eyes.
“We live in a world where we have a premiere and you want to look nice, and it turns into being a fashion person, and I’m like, “Well, I just like to look nice, I’m not really a fashion person.’ We all just want to look good,” the Dawson’s Creek alum told Harper’s Bazaar in a 2022 interview.
