At 46 years old, actress Katie Holmes still looks so much like her fresh-faced Dawson’s Creek character, Joey Potter, who we all fell in love with back in the ’90s. She just has such a natural glow about her, though apparently, she’s just as stunning when she ventures into heavy makeup territory.
On Tuesday, Holmes attended the Tod’s Cocktail Party in New York City, and she certainly turned heads by rocking a bold, gothic-inspired look. Between the stunning dress, dark yet highlighted locks, and the dark, smoky eye makeup, she managed to pull off a look that the Daily Mail called “Halloween-chic.”
While this is definitely a departure from Holmes’ signature girl next door look, it’s hard to deny that she looks absolutely gorgeous. Then again, she’s one of those celebs who could probably wear a paper bag and pass it off as haute couture.

Earlier this week, Holmes shared some exciting news on her Instagram page. The Broadway production of Our Town, in which she played Mrs. Webb, is up for a Tony Award.
