Kate Middleton wore Victoria Beckham for a surprise appearance Tuesday in London celebrating British fashion.
The Princess of Wales presented the Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design at an event hosted by the British Fashion Council on May 13, recognizing designer Patrick McDowell, whose luxury sustainable fashion brand has been seen on Lady Gaga and Keira Knightley.
“It’s a huge privilege and honor,” McDowell told The Sun of the honor. Of Kate, he added, “Throughout her tenure she’s been an amazing advocate of British fashion and really flies the flag for British fashion. She also looks incredible and is a real style icon. It is extra special to receive an award from her today.”

The prize—now in its eighth year—celebrates the U.K.’s fashion industry and fashion designers, and specifically recognizes designers who are leading the way in sustainable practices, The Sun reported—which is a cause the future queen firmly gets behind in her own life. During the outing Tuesday, Kate visited McDowell’s pop-up studio as well as spoke to other sustainable British fashion designers at the event.

For the occasion, the Princess of Wales wore a mustard green Victoria Beckham jacket, matching trousers, and a statement white blouse. Her appearance came after launching a seasonal video series, Mother Nature, on May 12, where she spoke about the importance of both nature and sustainability, explaining that nature has been her “sanctuary” throughout her cancer diagnosis as it represents “rebirth.” After announcing her diagnosis in March 2024 and sharing last September that she had completed chemotherapy treatment, Kate revealed in January that she is in remission.
