Kate Hudson channeled her iconic Almost Famous character Penny Lane when she made a guest appearance during singer Role Model‘s set at the Up in the Sky Festival in Aspen, Colorado.
The actress, 46, surprised fans on Aug. 9 when she came out on stage as the Sally diva during the 28-year-old’s performance of his track ““Sally, When the Wine Runs Out.” Hudson came out on stage in a pink slip dress with brown boots and sunglasses and danced around on stage during the performance.
Fans were stunned and delighted by the surprise performance, with one fan on TikTok commenting that she channelled her iconic How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days character Andy Anderson. Meanwhile, other fans said she channeled her Almost Famous character Penny Lane.
“That’s Penny Lane, show some respect,” one fan wrote. Others praised her guest appearance and wrote that Hudson looked “effortlessly cool” on stage and that “silk dresses are her signature.”

The surprise “Sally” is an ongoing tradition at Role Model’s previous shows and live performances. The singer — whose real name is Tucker Pillsbury — typically brings out a special celebrity guest to dance alongside him onstage while he performs the track.
