This is going to ruin the tour.

Justin Timberlake went viral for the wrong reasons after fans were disappointed in his performance during the recent Electric Castle music festival in Romania.

A video of the Trolls actor singing “Don’t Stop the Feeling!” blew up on TikTok, garnering over 1.5 million views. Many viewers criticized the artist for relying too heavily on the audience to carry the song.

“Dude took a day off on stage,” one person who reposted the video said.

Performing in the rain, Timberlake is shown putting up his jacket hood and saying the first line of the song. He then points to the audience to continue the song, directing them to continue for most of the minute-long video. The former boybander is also seen moving his hands and feet to the music.

Timberlake headlined the Transylvanian music festival last week, which marked his first-ever performance in Romania. One fan posted a scathing review of the set that gained 5.6 million views. She called the show “an absolute disappointment” and complained that he was concealing his face.

“You come to my country, I pay a lot of money, it’s raining like s—,” the fan said in her video. “I’ve been waiting for you all day to come up on stage. You were late, first of all. Yeah, and then you sing like five words on each song.”

Representatives for Timberlake did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Entertainment Weekly.

Fans felt it was disrespectful to paying audience members for Timberlake to shift the bulk of the performance onto fans. Some shared that they had their own negative experiences at some of Timberlake’s recent shows across Europe.

“I just wanna add that we saw him in Estonia and it was a disappointment for us, too,” one person wrote.

Another TikTok user shared a clip of his performance from Lollapalooza Paris and called him “Justin ‘I didn’t know I was supposed to sing at a concert’ Timberlake.” The video received 1.9 million views and shows the artist similarly asking the crowd to sing “Cry Me a River.”

Timberlake is finishing the final week of his world tour, which began last year in support of his most recent album Everything I Thought I Was. He will conclude the tour in Istanbul, Turkey on July 30.
