Justin Bieber is catching heat after sharing a public apology for his wife, Hailey Bieber.
The pop star took to Instagram on Tuesday, May 20 with a post congratulating the model on her recent Vogue cover, while also revealing his regret for once telling her she would never have secured such an accomplishment.
In the social media upload, the 31-year-old expressed remorse for his previous comments toward his wife, writing, “Yo this reminds me when Hailey and I got into a huge fight, I told hails that she would never be on the cover of vogue. Yikes I know, so mean.”

His reflection was accompanied by photos from the glossy spread, where Hailey posed in a soaking wet, striped collared shirt, showing off her bare midriff underneath, for the June 2025 Summer issue.
“For some reason because I felt so disrespected I thought I gotta get even,” the “What Do You Mean?” singer added at the time, further admitting, “I think as we mature we realize that we’re not helping anything by getting even we’re honestly just prolonging what we really want which is intimacy and connection.”
“So baby u already know but forgive me for saying u wouldn’t get a Vogue cover cuz clearly i was sadly mistaken,” Justin concluded.

Fans of the “Baby” artist were outraged at the confession, as they perceived his comments as a backhanded compliment for something that should be regarded as a huge accomplishment.
Several took to the comment section to question what exactly he meant, dropping things like, “Sadly mistaken?” “Justin 😭 idk if this is how you say congrats to your wife lol,” and “the irony because posting this caption instead of congratulating her is actually wild af and mean 😭😭😭😭.”
Meanwhile, “Come Thru” singer Jacquees called him a “REAL ONE” for the transparent moment, as another fan agreed, “People think relationships are perfect and that there are no arguments, he was honest and everything is fine. Be happy, and let JB be happy. Who has never had a bad fight with their partner?”
Someone else tried to empathize, reasoning, “I know your intentions in posting this were good, but the caption was disrespectful and nasty. This is a very happy moment for Hailey, let’s not take that away from her! ;).”
Following the backlash, the original caption of the post has since been changed to four simple emojis.
