Joe Alwyn is out and about following news of his ex Taylor Swift’s engagement to Travis Kelce.
The English actor, 34, was spotted on the streets of London on Wednesday, Aug. 27, one day after the big news.
Alwyn was photographed keeping a low profile in a striped blue sweater, jeans and a blue hat.
Swift, 35, and the Brutalist star were first linked in 2017 and dated until 2023. On Aug. 26, the singer-songwriter joined Kelce, 35, in announcing their engagement in an Instagram post consisting of several photos from their floral-filled proposal.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨,” Swift wrote. Ed Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end’s father, said the proposal took place two weeks prior.

In January 2025, Alwyn told The Guardian that he had moved on from his relationship with his Grammy-winning superstar ex — and suggested moving on was “something for other people to do” as well.
“I have tried just to focus on controlling what I can control,” the Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk star said. “And, right from the beginning, tried to focus on the things that are meaningful for me: friends, family, work… So noise outside of that, I think I’ve done what lots of people who find themselves in the public eye do, which is just try and ignore it.”

Alwyn and Swift kept their time together largely under wraps, but the “Cruel Summer” singer was inspired by elements of their relationship in many of her songs.

When asked by The Sunday Times Style Magazine if he had listened to Swift’s April 2024 album The Tortured Poets Department, Alwyn alluded to his breakup for the first time.
“I would hope that anyone and everyone can empathize and understand the difficulties that come with the end of a long, loving, fully committed relationship of over six and a half years,” he said in June 2024. “That is a hard thing to navigate. What is unusual and abnormal in this situation is that, one week later, it’s suddenly in the public domain and the outside world is able to weigh in.”
Among Alwyn’s upcoming projects are Hamlet (starring Riz Ahmed and premiering at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival next month) and Hamnet (premiering at the 2025 Telluride Film Festival and in theaters Nov. 27).
