Jimmy Fallon Announces Winner for His Book Club originally appeared on Parade.
On Wednesday night’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the late-night talk show host announced the winner for this summer’s “Fallon Book Club.”
Originally launched in 2018 as “Tonight Show Summer Reads,” the book club was rebranded as the “Fallon Book Club” in 2022. This popular segment on The Tonight Show invites viewers to vote on books and read alongside the 50-year-old comedian.
The club also encourages readers to share their thoughts and engage with the chosen book on social media using the hashtag #FallonBookClub. Previous books that have won include Nightwatching by Tracy Sierra in spring 2024, The God of the Woods by Liz Moore last summer, Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi and Ask Again, Yes by Mary Beth Keane.
The winner of this summer’s “Fallon Book Club” is My Friends by Fredrik Backman, which follows four teenagers who form a deep bond during the summer, finding refuge from their difficult home lives on a seaside pier. The Swedish New York Times best-selling author also penned the books A Man Called Ove, My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She’s Sorry, Britt-Marie Was Here, Beartown, Us Against You, Anxious People and The Winners.
The late-night talk show host also highlighted the four runners-up, which were What Kind of Paradise by Janelle Brown, Maggie; Or, A Man and a Woman Walk Into a Bar by Katie Yee, What Will People Think by Sara Hamdan and The Road to Tender Hearts by Annie Hartnett.
