Jessica Biel Shows Support After Justin Timberlake Reveals ‘Debilitating’ Health Diagnosis originally appeared on Parade.
Jessica Biel showed her support for her husband, Justin Timberlake, after he revealed his recent lyme disease diagnosis.
Biel, 43, shared Timberlake’s Instagram post with his announcement via her personal Instagram Story on July 31. Along with a photo of one of the couple’s sons giving his dad a hug, the former 7th Heaven star added three red heart emojis above the picture.
Timberlake, 44, shocked fans when he shared news of his diagnosis.
“Among other things, I’ve been battling some health issues, and was diagnosed with Lyme disease – which I don’t say so you feel bad for me – but to shed some light on what I’ve been up against behind the scenes,” the “Sexy Back” singer wrote alongside a carousel of photos. “If you’ve experienced this disease or know someone who has – then you’re aware: living with this can be relentlessly debilitating, both mentally and physically.”
Timberlake added that while he was “shocked” to learn that he had the disease, it was helpful to finally understand why he “would be onstage and in a massive amount of nerve pain or, just feeling crazy fatigue or sickness.”
He continued, “I was faced with a personal decision. Stop touring? Or, keep going and figure it out. I decided the joy that performing brings me far outweighs the fleeting stress my body was feeling. I’m so glad I kept going.”
Timberlake went on to explain that he was proud of himself for “proving his mental tenacity,” and thanks to continuing his tour, he was able to create “special moments” with his fans.
The former NSYNC star had recently faced criticism over lackluster performances, with one viral video showing fans slamming him for arriving late and allegedly not giving his full effort. However, several concertgoers began expressing concern after his July 26 show in Georgia.
“I can’t believe it’s almost over!” one fan commented on Instagram. “Going to miss you so much, but I know you are TIRED!!!! So rest up good and we can do it all over again!”
Timberlake wrapped the final night of his tour on July 30.
