Jessica Biel had a surprising reaction to her son’s comments about her appearance.
The Better Sister actress, 43, posted a TikTok, sharing her reaction to her son telling her she looked “old.” Biel — who shares two sons Phineas, 4, and Silas, 10, with husband Justin Timberlake — told her followers that she had to “figure out how to respond,” before ultimately deciding to explain to her son that everyone gets older.
“I woke up this morning and my son looked at me and said, ‘You look old.’ Yeah, that’s what I got this morning and I was trying to figure out how to respond,” she began. “And I said, ‘Oh well, it’s okay. We’re all getting older. You’re gonna get older. I’m gonna get older. We’re all getting older.’ And he said, ‘I hope you don’t look like a grandma.’ “

“And then I was like, ‘Oh my God, I am gonna look like a grandma one day,’ ” she continued, adding, “That really got me thinking about wow, life is moving fast and grandma days might be shortly on the horizon.”
The boy mom went on to urge parents to cherish all the small moments in life because time moves fast. “I don’t know, let your kid ride his Tonka truck all up and down the dirt road for as long as he wants to because one day you’re gonna be grandma. You’re not gonna be doing all that s—,” Biel said.
“Or maybe you will. I hope I’m the grandma who drives around with the Tonka trunk. A Power Wheel. I hope so. Anyway, here’s to looking old,” she continued.
Though Biel and Timberlake, 44, who have been married since 2012, are Hollywood stars, they prefer to keep their sons out of the spotlight. “I try to be conscious of making sure we can live a life where we’re not weirdly private,” the “Mirrors” singer said during an appearance on the Armchair Expert podcast in 2021.
Timberlake added, “But we’re conscious of making sure they can be kids for as long as possible and not have the weight of somebody else treating them differently because of something that their parents do.”

Additionally, Biel has been vocal about her role in the house, embracing the fact that she might be the bad cop. The actress was interviewed by InStyle for their 2025 summer issue and was asked what surprised her the most about being a parent to her two sons.
“The thing that surprised me about being a parent, and surprised me about myself is that I actually might be the rule enforcer,” she told the outlet. “Sometimes. But it’s not really my style.”
“I just sort of thought Justin’s going to be the rule enforcer and that’s the way it’s gonna be,” Biel continued. “I’m a Pisces, I’m more emotional, gentle easygoing and whatever, but I’m kind of good at it. I drop a boundary and I’m like, Nope. ‘You can’t cross it.’ “
