Jessica Alba has been making the rounds in New York City as she promotes the third season of her home renovation show, Honest Renovations. But she’s still a Los Angeles girl at heart.
Following a few days in the Big Apple, the actor could no longer keep her Angeleno roots inside as she stepped out in Manhattan on Tuesday. At its base, her relaxed, sporty fit was made up of a white tank top, slouchy light gray sweatpants, white sneakers, and oversize black sunglasses; but over it, the Trigger Warning star layered on a navy-and-red colorblock bomber jacket. The airy, retro-inspired piece entirely made the look, but Alba didn’t stop there. To match, she carried a Chanel crossbody bag in quilted cherry-red leather, and popped on a white-and-maroon L.A. trucker hat, repping her glitzy town.
The friendly rivalry between New York City and Los Angeles—NYC being the most notable metropolis in the East Coast, and L.A. being that of the West Coast—is a longstanding one. The cities have long clashed on everything from sports to entertainment, fashion, and way of life. Manhattan is to a dirty martini as Hollywood is to a Hailey Bieber Erewhon smoothie. But it seems that with her latest look, Alba was calling for a ceasefire.
The actor capped of her California fit with a wavy ’do, a dangly diamond necklace, and a very New York-in-the-’90s accessory: giant gold hoop earrings.
Maybe, just maybe, we can have both.
