Maximalism be damned! Jennifer Lawrence remains one of our reigning queens of quiet luxury, and for her latest effortless masterpiece, she showed us how to transform sleepwear into chic streetwear.
The Oscar-winner was spotted in the Big Apple earlier this week in a minimalist uniform that stuck to cozy, casual layers in a red-and-white color scheme. Not a bad way to beat the summer heat.
Upon first glance, Lawrence’s outfit (which you can check out here) looked like something you might throw on before bed—a silky slip here; a pair of comfy cotton pants there. But the Causeway star’s look was actually an expertly-layered assemblage of designer staples.
For the outing, Lawrence utilized a few of her dressing go-tos, from adding a pop of red to slipping on her favorite flip-flops from Havaianas.
She also tried out a styling hack she debuted just last month, when she stacked a lacy white slip dress from Dolce & Gabbana under a top and letting it peek out below, like a skirt. This time around, the top in question was courtesy of none other than the Row—one of Lawrence’s favorite brands. (Seeing this, it’s clear that even when it comes down to the basics, J.Law spares no expense.)
Finally, she rounded out the look with a few accessories that she also wore earlier this week, including a circular stone pendant, Ray-Ban sunglasses, and a black tote from Liffner. Oh, and she also popped on a white baseball cap from Polo Ralph Lauren.
If only actually rolling out of bed looked this good.
