Jennifer Lawrence is cosigning this Y2K trend in 2025. On Wednesday, the Oscar winner was spotted on the streets of New York layering a skirt over pants.
Lawrence paired a lace-trimmed slip with cropped red satin bottoms, adding a classic white T-shirt on top. She accessorized with a statement pendant necklace, Ray-Ban frames, and a Ralph Lauren cap. A suede tote by Little Liffner and a simple pair of black Havaianas completed her look.

Wearing skirts or dresses over pants was all the rage in the 2000s, with stars including Gwen Stefani, Nicole Richie, and Britney Spears trying out the unconventional styling trick.
While the fashion world once considered flip-flops dowdy, high-end brands like The Row have appropriated the affordable staple, which has made a comeback with It girls like Gigi Hadid and Kylie Jenner.
Earlier this month, Lawrence stepped out in New York wearing a necklace that appeared to reference her children.

Continuing her quiet luxury style streak, she sported a cream pankou shirt with matching slit satin pants. The Die My Love star also selected a pair of The Row’s viral mesh flats, a Dior saddlebag, and several pieces of gold jewelry.
Two particular pendants caught the attention of keen-eyed fans: the Mother! star wore both a “C” and an “L” on one of her chains. The former letter likely references her eldest son Cy, born in 2022, while the “L” could be the first initial of her newborn’s name.
Lawrence and her husband Cooke Maroney welcomed their second child in April, though they have yet to publicly reveal its name or gender.
