The second season of Netflix’s smash supernatural series Wednesday is almost here, and it appears that the fashion is going to be bigger and better than ever.
On Sunday, “bigger” was captured in a very literal sense, when Jenna Ortega arrived to the show’s season two launch party in a puffy, voluminous look from the Givenchy Fall 2025 collection.
While promoting the first season of Wednesday, Ortega often stuck to a black and white color scheme, nodding to her character’s go-to uniform with an array of gothic looks. This time around, it seems the Emmy nominee will be returning to these hues, but adding even more drama, and sauciness, along the way.
Her ensemble was designed by Givenchy’s newest creative director, Sarah Burton. The fit consisted of a black leather cone bra, which Ortega wore as a top, paired with a matching wool pencil skirt featuring a thin strip of white material along the raw-edge hemline.
Fans of Wednesday know that the titular Addams always has a trick up her sleeve, but with this outfit, the trick was the sleeves, which were two padded leather gloves that engulfed Ortega’s arms like bean bags. At the ends, they were topped off with golden cuffs that hugged the star’s wrists.
The effect made Ortega’s arms look abnormally large and it was a playful styling choice that leant into the theatrics and absurdity of the show.
To complete the look, the actor wore a pair of black platform heels, and she pulled her hair into a ponytail, leaving a few strands hanging down to frame her face.
For her summer 2025 cover story at Harper’s Bazaar, Ortega discussed the struggles she faced after filming the first season of the show, and the subsequent fame that came with it. “To be quite frank, after the show and trying to figure everything out, I was an unhappy person,” she said. “After the pressure, the attention—as somebody who’s quite introverted, that was so intense and so scary.”
She also added: “I’m doing a show I’m going to be doing for years where I play a schoolgirl… but I’m also a young woman.”
However, Ortega went on to say that she’s in a much better place now, and she teased what to expect in the forthcoming episodes. “Season 2 is bigger, bolder, gorier, and a bit darker,” she said. “It’s sillier in the best way possible.”
