On Tuesday night in New York City, Netflix held a special fan screening to celebrate the release of season two, part one of Wednesday. Taking place at the Paris Theater, the event was attended by various members of the cast, including lead star Jenna Ortega, who showed up in an outfit that honored her titular character, but had a touch of Morticia Addams to it too.
The dress in question? A jet-black, gothic gown that was pulled from the Ann Demeulemeester Fall 2025 collection.
The cowl-neck design was composed of two different fabrics: a shiny satin that formed the base, as well thick leather that cut across the dress in diagonal, wavy strips—sort of like bat wings.
We know that Ortega’s character loves herself some black, but this dress certainly wasn’t conveying schoolgirl. It seemed more like something Wednesday’s mom (played in the series by Catherine Zeta-Jones) would wear, symbolizing the maturation of Wednesday, and Ortega’s desire to display a more adult image herself.
To complete the look, the actor’s stylist, Enrique Melendez, paired the dress with some scene-stealing footwear—a set of lace-up, knee-high leather boots from Miista. The square-toed shoes featured angular wedge heels and silver grommets studding the sides of the open front, where the laces looped through. As for beauty, Ortega’s hair hung in front of her face like a curtain, and she rocked the same bleached brows she’s had for many of her press engagements as of late.
Earlier in the day, the Emmy nominee stepped out for two other events, where she wore a pair of looks from the Elena Velez Fall 2025 collection. The first was a nude, distressed corset dress, while the latter was a two-piece set consisting of a transparent ruched maxi skirt in brown, paired with a mustard, ruffled, off-the-shoulder top. Ortega turned to the New York-based designer the week prior too, when she wore one of her freakiest looks yet—a dress covered in strands of hair.
With this latest promo cycle, Ortega’s looks have certainly leant into the dramatic, be it with puffy sleeves and jutting hip shelves or giant crosses and eye-covering hats. Thankfully, we still have the release of her show’s season two, part two to go, which means there might be some more unsettling, and outstanding, looks waiting in store.
