Jenna Bush Hager Had An Embarrassing Moment On the ‘Today’ Show originally appeared on Parade.
On the June 25 edition of Today With Jenna and Friends, the former first daughter partook in one of her co-host Niecy Nash-Betts’ favorite activities: roller skating. Apparently the Reno 911 star loves to strap on some skates and roll around the rink, as evidenced by a clip they showed from her Instagram.
The co-hosts welcomed Laronbest from the Max series Roller Jam, and all three of them wore a pair of stylish skates. Unfortunately for Hager, she proved to be the least adept at maneuvering them.

Laronbest, a pro roller, showed them some basic moves, like the “slow walk,” a moonwalk-esque move in which you alternate your feet forward and backward. He and Nash-Betts both looked comfortable on their skates, but Hager was much more cautious, often looking like she was about to slip on a banana peel. It also probably didn’t help that the long dress she was wearing didn’t appear to give her legs much freedom to move.
At one point, her skates appeared to develop minds of their own, inching her forward without her even realizing how. “Why am I so forward?” she worriedly asked as she slid several feet in front of her guest and co-host. She eventually found her way back, but when Laronbest tried to show her how to lift her feet and twist her hips, she gave up and insisted that he perform solo. When he agreed, she nervously inched her way off the stage, looking as though she were trudging through snow.
Hager had another funny moment on the Today show two weeks ago, when she said that Al Roker “made out” with her grandmother, former first lady Barbara Bush. Roker did not have the privilege, but former Today weatherman Willard Scott did.
