Jenelle Evans’s divorce from David Eason has been finalized, PEOPLE can confirm.
According to court documents reviewed by PEOPLE, the Teen Mom 2 alum was granted her divorce from Eason on Friday, July 11. Their date of separation was listed as Feb. 16, 2024. TMZ was first to report the news.
PEOPLE has reached out to a representative of Evans for comment.
The news comes after a rep for the former MTV star confirmed to PEOPLE in March 2024 that she filed for permanent separation from her estranged husband.

According to the North Carolina Judicial Branch, “You are eligible to file for divorce, also called an ‘absolute divorce,’ only after being separated for at least a year and a day. This means that you must have been living in different homes and that at least one of you intended that the separation be permanent during that time.”
Court documents reviewed by PEOPLE show that Evans officially filed for divorce in May 2025 —and celebrated their split with a “divorce party” in New York a month later.
The two wed in September 2017 after getting engaged that February, just weeks after welcoming their daughter, Ensley Jolie Eason, 8, that January. Evans is also a mom to son, Kaiser Orion Griffith, 11, with ex Nathan Griffith, and Jace Vahn Evans, 15, with ex Andrew Lewis.

“After a really long and draining process, my divorce from David is official,” the mom of three said in a statement to TMZ.
“This chapter has been heavy, but I’m walking away from it with clarity, strength and so much love for my kids,” she continued. “My focus is on them and our future and I’m just thankful to finally have peace and a fresh start.”
Evans previously shared news of their separation in a May 2024 TikTok, announcing, “I filed for separation,” and later posted another video explaining that she had to file for separation in North Carolina before filing for divorce.
She and Eason previously split for a brief period in late 2019, but reconciled several months later in early 2020. The two have stuck together amid legal trouble.
In February 2019, Evans called the cops on Eason and claimed he assaulted her, but she later told E! News that “it was a drunk and dramatic misunderstanding.”

In May 2019, Evans temporarily lost custody of her two younger children after Eason allegedly shot and killed their family dog for biting their then-2-year-old daughter in the face. That July, she confirmed to PEOPLE she had regained custody of her son and daughter.

Eason also had a run-in with the law in November 2021 when he was caught driving with a revoked license and being in possession of an open container.
