Jelly Roll Making Huge TV Debut Next Week originally appeared on Parade.
ABC announced back in late June that when late-night host Jimmy Kimmel went on hiatus from his self-titled show this summer, he would be replaced by a revolving door of guest hosts, which is something Jimmy Kimmel Live does frequently when Kimmel takes a break.
One of the guest hosts is none other than country superstar Jelly Roll (real name Jason Bradley DeFord) — it will be a full-circle moment for the singer because his very first national TV appearance was actually on Jimmy Kimmel Live back in June 2022, so now, three years later, he is stepping behind the hosting desk.
On Friday, July 11, ABC announced Jelly Roll’s guest-hosting dates plus the guests who will be hanging out with him during his TV hosting debut.

On Wednesday, July 16, Jelly Roll will host with two guests appearing — actor Jeremy Renner there to promote “My Next Breath” and wrestler Randy Orton there to promote WWE SummerSlam. The musical guest will be rapper Joey Bada$$.
Then on Thursday, July 17, Jelly Roll will also guest-host, welcoming guest Kevin James for his new comedy film Guns Up co-starring Christina Ricci, C.J. Perry, Luis Guzman and Melissa Leo. The musical guest that night will be The All-American Rejects.
There’s no word as to whether Jelly Roll will perform with the musical acts, but that would be a lot of fun for fans.
The Renner interview should be quite emotional because the actor is there promoting his memoir “My Next Breath,” which chronicles the horrific 2023 accident where he was hit by a snowplow and nearly died.
Jimmy Kimmel Live airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET/PT on ABC and streams the next day on Hulu.
