Jelly Roll is living his best life these days with his career on fire, and that’s not dying down anytime soon. A new announcement about upcoming performances for the singer, whose real name is Jason DeFord, reveals he is spreading his wings and achieving some big accomplishments.
According to Billboard on July 31, Jelly Roll and Shaboozey will headline the first-ever Strummingbird Festival in Australia. The performances will take place in late October and early November in the areas of theSunshine Coast, Newcastle, and Perth.
These performances will be the first-ever in Australia for both Jelly Roll and Shaboozey.
The ability to travel around the world to perform is a relatively new opportunity for Jelly Roll. He explained to Billboard in June 2023 that a felony charge he faced at the age of 16 restricted his ability to get a passport for years.
Even once he could get a passport, Jelly Roll added, it was difficult to travel abroad. “The trick is when America finally says, ‘We’ll let you leave,’ the amount of countries that won’t let you come in … We had to cancel my London debut show.”
Rolling Stone notes that the pre-sale for the Strummingbird concerts begins on August 7, and general ticket sales start on August 8.
Jelly Roll’s upcoming Australian performances were hinted at by his wife, Bunnie Xo, in a recent episode of her podcast. During the June 30 episode of Dumb Blonde, Bunnie Xo said, “J is going to Australia for four weeks,” shortly after his European tour dates wrap.
As Taste of Country shares, the singer is now making the most of his ability to travel the world. His schedule for the rest of 2025 reveals that every performance is scheduled to happen outside of the United States.
Jelly Roll will perform on Post Malone’s tour as it travels across Europe. Concerts over the coming months are slated for Germany, Italy, France, England, the Netherlands, Spain, and Portugal. The singer will also perform in Canada and Switzerland before the Strummingbird dates in Australia.
The festival’s announcement about Jelly Roll, Shaboozey, and other performers shared on Instagram received an immediate and enthusiastic response.
