  • Jeezy praised an Uber driver for driving him from South Carolina to Baltimore after his flight was canceled

  • The rapper brought the driver onstage during his Aug. 1 concert, after the 10-hour journey

  • “Big thank you to Jeezy. He was super cool. Very nice dude, genuine guy,” the Uber driver said on TikTok

Jeezy is grateful for an Uber driver’s efforts to get him to his show.

The “Get Right” rapper, 47, said he was forced to take a 10-hour drive from South Carolina to Baltimore to avoid disappointing fans after his flight was canceled ahead of his concert at The Lyric Baltimore on Aug. 1.

Jeezy, whose real name is Jay Wayne Jenkins, reposted a fan’s TikTok video on Instagram, showing the moment he explained his lengthy journey to the crowd, after he successfully made it to the city as part of his TM101: LIVE tour.

“I woke up to my team informing me that all flights to Baltimore and D.C. had been canceled,” Jeezy captioned the post. “They then told me that my driver was on his way to pick me up, so we could drive to Baltimore for the next stop on the tour.”

“Two hours into our drive, we hit an object on the highway, puncturing the gas tank and causing fuel to leak everywhere,” Jeezy continued. “We pulled over to a small gas station to regroup in SC.”

“My team tried to arrange a jet from South Carolina to Baltimore, but with the flights canceled [due] to weather, we weren’t sure if the jet would get us there on time, risking another cancellation,” he then wrote.

The “Soul Survivor” musician went on to explain that his team initially called an Uber to take him and his team to a rental car company.

But, around eight minutes into the journey, he began to inquire how much the Uber driver would charge to change the destination of the trip to Baltimore.

“I assured him that whatever it was, he’d have it,” the four-time Grammy-nominated rapper said of the driver. “Like a real one, he didn’t hesitate and just kept driving.”

“Ten hours later, we arrived in Baltimore just ten minutes before showtime!” Jeezy continued. “I told him he made a lot of people happy tonight! Gave him a Snowman Tee and told him he was my guest for the show tonight!”

“Shout out to the real MVP, my Uber driver Tanner! Not all heroes wear capes!” he concluded his post. “P.S. There was no way I was missing out on Baltimore! ⛄️‼️.”

Jeezy didn’t reveal how much he paid the Uber driver, who later received a standing ovation when he was brought onstage in the city.

The Uber driver later admitted on TikTok that he didn’t expect giving the rapper a ride to go viral, but he thought it was “kind of cool.”

“Big thank you to Jeezy. He was super cool. Very nice dude, genuine guy,” he added.
